What makes color difference ?

Well, each color has its own unique representation and meaning, which definitely can't express only with b/w. There are some scenes which are just defined by showing diff. colors in movies.(for eg. watch art movies).  It is based on the contrast of color but you just cant say 'for or against' to the colors!!!!!
