For the world you are the unforgettable Dream Girl, and always will be; but for me you are the Dream Mom. You’re not just my mother; you’re a friend and a father and a confidante, all in one. I admire your strength and from that strength, I draw mine; from your values I learn mine.

Mom, look at us. We’re so different from each other, yet I see so much of you inside me. I’m so young, but I see a far younger heart in you. A heart full of love, beauty and compassion. I look forward to our everyday chai-times; we both love it so much. I enjoy the time we both splurge on shopping, and treat each other to everything we want.

Mom, it also amazes me how you look so gorgeous even today. I guess it’s because Aahana and me don’t stress you out much, right? Ha!Ha! But I think the beauty comes from the fact that you live life so passionately, and more than anything, you ‘live’ every moment of it. Also, you live life on your own terms, and that’s something that I’ve imbibed from you.

You’ve taught me how to face the truth and speak the truth. And told me that nothing else matters in the real world. I’m so glad you’ve raised me as a normal child, never letting me forget my roots and giving me a treasure trove of childhood memories.

I connect with you through my dance too, mom. I know, as long as your feet go on, you’ll never stop dancing. Thank you for teaching me this beautiful art and encouraging me to pursue my talent.

Just the small things we do together, and the time we spend together makes my day special. I can see myself growing old with you, mom, and spending hours, weeks and years just talking to you. To me, you’re a shining angel, and I’m always going to be your little girl. Looking up at you for everything and anything.

I know this is an emotional outburst and a public one. But what better stage to wish ‘the most beautiful mom in the world’ a ‘Happy Mother’s Day’!
