Reportedly, her parents were completely against her liaison with director Vikram Bhatt. "The day my mother came to know about Vikram, she beat with a slipper at 4 in the morning. They wanted me to get married to a rich industrialist and would try to match me with someone or the other. It got into me. There was constant tension at home. I was compelled to take this step," she said. The actress said that she had forgiven her family for their behavior. "I'm glad that I'm out of it."
